      After listening to the interview with Daniel Kalder, I believe that I have a better understanding of the term "anti-tourist". He describes an anti-tourist as someone who, "Seeks locked doors and demolished buildings... they travel at the wrong time of year." (Kalder). This type of person (anti-tourist) is someone who loves to explore the "unknown" places and has a sense of wanderlust. They have the need to experience things for themselves. In the interview Kalder spent some time describing places that he had visited where he felt that it was not the recommended or necessarily the most mainstream place to visit. While visiting these places he got a broader picture of the people who lived there and their culture. I connected to this idea of anti-tourism; I have always been fascinated by old places that seem to have been forgotten and left behind by society. I have always rejected the image of the demanding tourist who goes where they are told, I would rather learn about another place or culture by immersing myself in that environment. My idea of the anti-tourist is someone who would rather be immersed in a place than experience the bear minimum, someone who would rather explore places that seem to be left forgotten or untouched, someone who, as Daniel Kalder said, "Rejects the common path"(Kalder).
